Angelina Jolie waved to the cameras on her way into dinner with her castmates before tonight’s big premiere of Changeling. She looked gorgeous showing off her slimmed down figure in good spirits even without any of her big family who made the trip with her. We’ll see more of Angelina at tonight’s premiere and whether or not she has Brad by her side, she already has Oscar buzz to keep that famous smile on her face.

Hugh Grant spent some time perfecting his golf swing, participating in a tournament in the UK this week. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen him out and about or promoting a movie, and it’s safe to say that he’s not the go-to actor for romantic comedies anymore. Kate Beckinsale and her daughter Lily were joined by a few friends yesterday as they shopped and snacked in LA. They’re an inseparable mother-daughter duo, from the ice-skating rink to red carpet premieres, though with school back in session, they’ll have to save their bonding for after class. Kate looked gorgeous in a tank top, jeans, and Fall essential beanie, which is a lesson in dressing Lily will be lucky to learn.

John Mayer looked somber in mostly black on his way out of his NYC apartment yesterday. John may have sworn off women for the time being, but he’s back to blogging, including a post this week about Paul Newman. John explained a game he plays with his friends rating celebrities’ clout that ended in the realization that, “Nobody will ever be that cool again.” It’s sweet of John to pay tribute to the amazing actor and man who seems to have left an impression on everyone in Hollywood.

Jennifer Garner took her glowing smile and her baby bump all around Santa Monica yesterday, spending some time with her pink twin Violet and meeting up with friends for lunch at the Ivy. Jen and Violet may have unintentionally matched their wardrobes, like a lot of mothers do, but we’ll have to wait and see if Violet’s new sibling will join in on the pink or if Ben and Jen will have a blue-wearing boy. Either way, hopefully the new Garner-Affleck will inherit Jen’s darling dimples like Violet did!

Britney Spears stood out in bright blue stopping by Soho House and the Box night club in Manhattan last night. Earlier, the singer was at John Philip Sousa Middle School in the Bronx to present a $10,000 donation to the school’s music program given in her name from Elizabeth Arden, which makes and sells her perfumes. Brit thanked the company for their generosity and gushed about the kids who sang and played music for her. Every day the pop star seems like more and more of her old self, thanks in part to her father who apparently is still working to keep bad influences out of Britney’s life.

Future co-stars Robert Downey Jr. and Rachel McAdams were joined by Guy Ritchie yesterday for a press conference in London for Sherlock Holmes. We’re so excited to see so much talent joining forces for the project, and it sounds like Robert Downey Jr. is feeling equally confident about the film, saying, “In case you aren’t aware I had a hell of a summer, and it’s made me much more viable to play a lead role than I might have (been) in the past. Clearly I’m going to do it better than it’s ever been done. The more I read about it the more overwhelmed I was by the weight of it and the amount of people who will be watching to see if it’s gotten right.” Sounds like RDJ is still on top of the world after the big success of Iron Man and Tropic Thunder, and hopefully he can churn out another blockbuster with lovely Rachel’s help.

Madonna carried David into NYC’s Kabbalah Center yesterday to celebrate Rosh Hashanah and came out a few hours later with her manager and friend Guy Oseary. She’s enjoying some family time after wrapping up the European leg of her Sticky & Sweet tour last weekend and before kicking things off in North America this Friday. Hopefully she’ll also find time to promote her directorial debut Filth & Wisdom between shows — the film’s trailer just came out and it hits screens on October 17th.

After another Friday afternoon coaching his team, Ashton Kutcher joined Demi Moore at Iowa State University for the Vote Early For Change Rally on Saturday. The happy couple is traveling around Ashton’s home state talking to university students about their support for Barack Obama and the importance of voting. Demi said, “That’s what scares me, that if we have another four years of what I call the same dance, a different partner, that’s not a dance I want to show up to.” It was another big weekend for politics all around — wonder if the busy duo still found time to catch Friday’s debate or Tina Fey back as Sarah Palin on SNL.

Lindsay Lohan tried out Samantha’s trademark smirk while posing at the Ultimat Vodka Launch in NYC last night, LL’s third party of the evening in addition to the Stand Up For a Cure event and Maire Claire bash. After the long night, Lindsay was right back to shooting scenes for Ugly Betty this morning, though the seven-year anniversary of 9/11 was not far from her and Samantha’s thoughts. Both girls blogged about it — Lindsay reminding people to take a moment to reflect while Samantha recounted her experience being in NYC during the tragic event.

Jennifer Garner shared a laugh with her friend on the way to breakfast at Le Pain in Brentwood this morning. She kept her baby bump warm under a cozy sweatshirt despite the sunshine. After an emotional playground trip over the weekend, Jennifer’s preschool-going sweetheart Violet didn’t join mom on this outing. It’s always nice to fit in a little adult time, too, because with another baby on the way, soon it’ll be harder to squeeze in quiet breakfasts with friends for this hands-on mom.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have been enjoying a vacation in Italy packed with photo ops and sightseeing, but they also found time to get romantic. Last week they shared a few kisses on the street and cozied up over dinner. On Friday the couple headed to a vintage jewelry shop for a few new items to add to Jess’s collection. Now that Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are married, we can’t help but think back to last year and wonder if an even more special sparkler is on the way for these two members of that love square.

On Friday, Paul Newman passed away at the age of 83 in his home in CT with friends and family by his side. In this slideshow, we take a look back at the Hollywood legend and philanthropist who touched so many lives. From striking a pose in the Florida Keys during his directorial debut, Rachel Rachel, to helping sick children and donating multi-millions from his various charities, Paul Newman lived an amazingly full life, and he will be greatly missed.
Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish went as twins in their matching caps and sunglasses as they grabbed breakfast with Ryan’s buddy Breckin Meyer in LA earlier this week. Ryan took Abbie to Vegas for her bikini birthday celebration in August, but apparently his own early September bash was a little lonely with his girl off in Australia. Luckily it looks like Ryan’s got his posse of favorite people back by his side, and maybe a belated celebration will also help cheer up the now 34 year old.
Matt Damon stopped by the Clinton Global Initiative in NYC on Friday to talk about H2O Africa, his clean water project. He was there as part of his commitment to the Global Water Challenge, which helps provide sanitary and clean drinking water to the world’s poorest populations. The cause has been close to Matt’s big heart for years and now his charity work is more important to him than ever. After his big day, hopefully he found somewhere to sit back, relax, loosen up his tie and watch the debate.

Lindsay Lohan was out and about in LA on Friday after a busy week including the interview on Loveline where she talked about being with Samantha for a long time. While most of us took this as confirmation of their relationship, Lindsay’s publicist Leslie Sloane-Zelnik felt the need to say that, “There was no confession,” and that there’s nothing more than a very close friendship between the girls. At this point the girls don’t seem to be overly concerned about keeping things under wraps including public kisses, so tell us — should Lindsay’s publicist stay out of her personal life?

Naomi Watts spent another afternoon out in LA with her fourteen-month-old son Alexander yesterday. They were joined by Alexander’s nanny for a trip to a park, where they went for a walk in his high-rated lightweight stroller and had a chat before packing up and heading back home. While Naomi got a fancy new ride for her birthday, she’ll also be on the market for some more wheels — double stroller style — to cart around Alexander and his new little brother or sister soon.

Tom and Katie went to dinner at Angus McIndoe Restaurant to celebrate with the All My Sons cast after Katie’s debut Broadway performance in NYC last night. Katie was already back to baggy jeans uniform on her way to rehearsal today, while Tom gushed about his wife saying he’s so proud of her and that the show means a lot to her. It looks like all those weeks of rehearsals have paid off, and we are sure to hear more about Katie as the previews continue before the official opening on October 16.
